Michael Vick Won’t Be Released From Eagles Yet
The Philadelphia Eagles have said they will not release backup quarterback Michael Vick until the conclusion of a probe into his birthday party shooting, this according to ESPN high ranking sources.
The team, according to the source, will not take any action until Virginia Beach police and the NFL conclude their investigations.
The latest controversy surrounding Vick involved a shooting outside a restaurant where the quarterback had been celebrating his birthday.
Quanis Phillips, a co-defendant in Vick's dogfighting case with whom Vick is barred from associating, was shot outside the restaurant. Vick's attorney claims that his client had left the establishment approximately a half hour prior to the shooting incident.
Vick is prohibited from associating with Phillips as a condition of his release on probation, which stemmed from a dogfighting conviction and resulting 18-month federal prison sentence.
