New England Patriots Odds to Win 2012 Super Bowl

There may be some value in betting the New England Patriots to win the 2012 Super Bowl with 3/1 odds but we at G911.co certainly feel otherwise about their 1/2 odds of winning the AFC East division.  It could happen but the value just isn’t there with the New York Jets playing in this division.

The oddsmakers have New England winning 12 or more regular season games with a line of -125.

Make no mistake about it, the Pats have what it takes to win the Championship.  Then again, they have always had what it takes to win a Super Bowl the past couple of seasons but have not.

Back in February we would have been all over New England winning the 2012 Super Bowl with odds of 8 to 1.  The additions of Chad Ocho Cinco and Albert Haynesworth helped slash these odds and make the Patriots the best team on paper, but not necessarily the best team on the field.  Both players have their baggage.

Without an outside linebacker who is a proven pass rusher, last year’s rankings (25th in total defense and 30th against the pass) might not change a whole lot.

The schedule could prove tough, especially if the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys get their act together and Kansas City proves lethal once again.

On paper, this team wins more than the allotted 11.5 games posted by the oddsmakers.  The price is not right for a division win.  3 to 1 odds of a Super Bowl championship does have some value though.

Value Index Odds:

2012 Super Bowl – Good

AFC East Division – Poor

Regular Season Wins OVER 11.5 – Very Good
