New Orleans Saints

Within an hour after opening the Vikings - Saints line at New Orleans -4, Bookmaker.com pushed the line up a half point as a means of encouraging action on the underdog Vikings.   Bookmaker.com is known for taking heavy "sharp" action and this immediate line change was a sure sign that most of the initial bets were going New Orleans way.

Both teams were dominant against their respective opponents with Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints throwing three passing TDs, to join Aaron Brooks as the only QBs in Saints history with at least three passing TDs in a postseason game.

Reggie Bush had 217 all-purpose yards and joined Charlie Trippi (1947 NFL Championship) as the only players in postseason history with rushing and punt return TDs in the same game.

Despite Minnesota's dominant performance against the Cowboys on Sunday, they were not getting much respect early on from professional sports bettors and others getting on the early line.

Brett Favre threw four TD passes for the first time in a playoff game -- including three to Sidney Rice -- and the Vikings advanced to their first NFC Championship Game since the 2000 season.  Rice s the first player in Vikings' franchise history with three TD receptions in a playoff game.

Minnesota sacked Tony Romo six times and forced three turnovers. Romo threw one interception and fumbled the ball three times, losing two of them.

This was the Vikings' second-largest margin of victory in a playoff game, while the Cowboys suffered their second-worst defeat in a playoff game.
