Atlanta Falcons odds to win the 2012 NFC South – EVEN
Atlanta Falcons regular season win total – OVER/UNDER 9.5 (OVER -105, UNDER -125)
Atlanta Falcons 2012 Schedule:
Week 1: at Kansas City Week 2: Denver (Mon.) Week 3: at San Diego Week 4: Carolina Week 5: at Washington Week 6: Oakland Week 7: BYE Week 8: at Philadelphia Week 9: Dallas Week 10: at New Orleans Week 11: Arizona Week 12: at Tampa Bay Week 13: New Orleans (Thurs.) Week 14: at Carolina Week 15: New York Giants Week 16: at Detroit (Sat.) Week 17: Tampa Bay
Atlanta will once again come into this regular season a decent team that should be able to handle its division opponents at home. Between weaker Carolina and Tampa Bay, Atlanta has a shot at going 1-2 on the road against its division opponents. The total wins within the division look to be 4.
When it comes to the rest of the road games, it’s tough to see the Falcons taking one in San Diego or Detroit (and the NFC North is likely to still be in play during Week 16 when these two teams meet). In theory, the Falcons have a shot of beating both the Eagles and the Skins on the road. Gambling911.com believes they should be able to win one of those two games. Likewise, Atlanta can beat Kansas City on the road. We give them 2 road wins outside the division.
At home, we believe they can beat Oakland and Arizona. Gambling911.com is giving Atlanta the win against either Denver or the New York Giants at home, proving the Falcons with 4 home wins outside their division.
The OVER 9.5 at near EVEN odds does have some value based on this synopsis.
New Orleans Saints odds to win the 2012 NFC South – EVEN
New Orleans Saints regular season win total – OVER/UNDER 9.5 (OVER -140, UNDER +110)
New Orleans Saints 2012 Schedule:
Week 1: Washington Week 2: at Carolina Week 3: Kansas City Week 4: at Green Bay Week 5: San Diego Week 6: BYE Week 7: at Tampa Bay Week 8: at Denver Week 9: Philadelphia (Mon.) Week 10: Atlanta Week 11: at Oakland Week 12: San Francisco Week 13: at Atlanta (Thur.) Week 14: at New York Giants Week 15: Tampa Bay Week 16: at Dallas Week 17: Carolina
The Saints have almost the identical odds as Atlanta to win the division and the same number of regular season games with one noticeable exception, the OVER 9.5 regular season games is listed at -140, indicating the oddsmakers believe New Orleans have a better shot of winning more games in 2012 than the Falcons.
Just like with Atlanta, we see 4 division wins for New Orleans.
On the road, the Saints should be able to conquer Oakland and we’ll give them either the Dallas or New York Giants game so that New Orleans have a shot at 2 wins on the road.
At home we do see where New Orleans might have an advantage over Atlanta with wins on paper against Washington, Kansas City, San Diego, Philadelphia and quite possibly even San Francisco. We say they lose one of these non division home games but that still makes for 10 2012 regular season wins. Gambling911.com does not see much value in betting New Orleans on the OVER at -140 though.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds to win the 2012 NFC South – 12/1
Tampa Bay Buccaneers regular season win total – OVER/UNDER 6 (OVER -120, UNDER -110)
Tampa Bay Bucs 2012 Schedule:
Week 1: Carolina Week 2: at New York Giants Week 3: at Dallas Week 4: Washington Week 5: BYE Week 6: Kansas City Week 7: New Orleans Week 8: at Minnesota (Thur.) Week 9: at Oakland Week 10: San Diego Week 11: at Carolina Week 12: Atlanta Week 13: at Denver Week 14: Philadelphia Week 15: at New Orleans Week 16: St. Louis Week 17: at Atlanta
The oddsmakers seem to think Tampa Bay can have a .500 season based on the odds they have offered on the regular season win total.
Even the worst teams we would tend to offer 3 wins off the bat within the division.
On the road, Tampa Bay will have its work cut out for them with games in New York (Giants) and Dallas during Weeks 2 and 3, respectively. Minnesota is such a long shot to win the NFC North that this is the team we see the Bucs potentially beating. None others really stand out.
Wins against Washington, Kansas City, Philadelphia and St. Louis at home are possible but, on paper, Gambling911.com sees just one home win against these four teams. Pick your poison.
The UNDER 6 at -110 only has some value.
