Player Who Punched Geno Smith Once Punched a Man He Thought Was Woman
ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” is reporting that IK Enemkpali, the former Jets player who broke quarterback Geno Smith’s jaw earlier in the month, once slugged a man he thought was a woman with whom he had arranged to have sex.
The outside linebacker injured his hand during that incident, missing the 2011 opening game between Louisiana Tech and Southern Mississippi. He was previously suspended for striking an off-duty sheriff’s officer at a Louisiana bar.
Enemkpali was immediately cut from the Jets and is now playing with the Buffalo Bills.
Smith is likely to miss much of the 2015 regular season. In his place Ryan Fitzgerald has not looked particularly sharp during the preseason. He’s been priced at $5.5K on Daily Fantasy Sports sites. The Jets are favored at -130 to win UNDER 7.5 regular season games.
