San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons Point Spread Dips to -6
After opening at -7, the San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons point spread has dropped to -6 in favor of the home team Falcons at only a handful of online sportsbooks, SBG Global among them. Betting action is relatively even on this game and most books were not likely to drop the line below -6 ½. The 6-point spread is insurance for those afraid Atlanta can win by a touchdown.

The 49ers come into this team hungry having lost their first three games of the new seasons. This team was billed as one of the NFL darlings coming into 2010. Gamblers should know that San Francisco is 6-0-3 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS loss while Atlanta is just 1-7 after two consecutive wins over these past three seasons.
San Francisco has been outscored 62-16 in their two road games this season. They are
last in scoring defense (29.0 points per game) and 31st in scoring offense (12.7)
"It is stunning because we have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, especially on offense," San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl tight end Vernon Davis said after the game. "We have speed, we have guys that love to get after it. But like I said, we need an answer."
Coach Mike Singletary suggested there would be personnel changes this week.
"Right now, what we are going to do is get back and look at the film and hold off on making any changes until we look at the film and go from there," he said. "We will look at the film and see what is there and make decisions accordingly."
After looking at the film, Singletary fired offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye. His replacement will be quarterbacks coach Mike Johnson, who should be quite familiar with the Falcons organization since he worked there for three years.
The betting public is fairly confident that the -6 to -6 ½ point spread is right on the money.
Atlanta destroyed San Francisco on the road last season by a score of 45-10 but only beat them by 4 points at home in 2007.
