Steelers vs. Broncos: Middling Opportunity for Bettors

Monday Night Football's Steelers vs. Broncos game offers a tremendous opportunity for sports bettors who believe that the Steelers will win this one on the road by just two points.

Some of the wise guy shops like Pinnacle Sports and BetPhoenix.com had reduced the line on this game to Pittsburgh -1 while SBG Global featured a line of +2 ½ for Denver.

If the game were to fall in favor of Pittsburgh by 2 points, both bets would win at the two different online sportsbooks offering the varying lines.

While the number two is not one of the more likely occurrences, it does occur, particularly because teams will sometimes miss the extra point following a touchdown.  Other combinations can lead to a two point variation in the score such as when a team has scored one touchdown and three field goals versus a team that has scored two touchdowns (16-14).  Safeties also can occur.

We witnessed two point wins during the first week of this season when Indianapolis beat Jacksonville by a score of 14-12 and during Week 2 when the lowly Washington Redskins beat the equally lowly St. Louis Rams by 9-7.
