83-Year-Old Reputed Mobster Whitey Bulger Trial Set to Begin This Week
BOSTON – (Associated Press) - James "Whitey" Bulger is no longer the feared man who swaggered around South Boston and later became one of the nation's most-wanted fugitives.
At 83, the bright platinum hair that earned Bulger his nickname is all but gone and his reputed status as the leader of a violent gang has passed.
But as Bulger's long-awaited trial gets under way, it's clear that the passage of time has done little to diminish Boston's fascination with Bulger.
Unprecedented 6343 Entries at First Ever WSOP ‘Millionaire Maker’ Event
The numbers are in and they are staggering for the first ever World Series of Poker “Millionaire Maker” event.
The WSOP reports that, after playing two separate flights Saturday (Day 1a and 1b), eight levels of grueling play whittled the field from 6,343 runners, an unprecedented number in terms of low buy-in WSOP tourneys, to 1,481 players.

Some are calling it the “Black Friday for the Online Casino Industry” as a number of Dutch-based web gaming sites were recently shut down. At least one poker site, AmsterdamPoker.com, was also taken down as part of the law enforcement operative.

Hollywood Casino in St. Louis Loses Roof in Severe Storms
Friday nights severe storms throughout Oklahoma and Missouri have left significant damage including a lost roof at the Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights, Missouri outside of St. Louis. Trees and light poles were also down outside the casino. (This story was still developing)
No injuries were immediately reported at the casino. An evacuation was taking place.
