The largest sports betting exchange in the world, Betfair, has signed a deal with the International Olympics Committee.  Has nothing to do with advertising or sponsoring athletes, it’s all about monitoring bets and ensuring a corruption-free Olympics this year in London.

From Gambling Kingz:

Because Betfair is based off-shore, it is not subject to the UK Gambling Commission's demands that bookmakers share information about suspicious betting patterns or similar data. However, Betfair has memorandums of understanding with a number of international authorities around the world. As such, its latest agreement with the IOC is an extension of this policy.

"The interests of sports governing bodies, like the IOC, and Betfair are completely aligned in wanting to ensure consumers can bet on sporting events in a transparent and secure manner," said Martin Cruddace, Betfair's chief legal and regulatory affairs officer. "If we are to protect the sports we all love then we must continue to work openly and co-operatively, and today's agreement is a clear example of just that."

Casino Bill is not Just About South Florida - Backers of a controversial plan to bring high-end destination-casino resorts to Florida initially billed it as a way to limit gambling in the state. Casino Mogul Sheldon Adelson Distancing Himself From Romnie “Documentary” – After receiving plenty of flack following reports that he was the main “money man” behind a 28-minute documentary type advertisement produced by a pro-Newt Gingrich group that depicted former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as a heartless corporate raider, casino mogul Sheldon Adelson is now in damage control.

Adelson claims not to have seen the video advertisement.

“The key to remember here is that he gave a donation to support Newt,” a source told the Las Vegas Sun. “What happens from the time when that contribution lands with that PAC to now, he’s not involved with. He’s not been involved in the strategies and the tactics.” [Las Vegas Sun]
