A handful of UK-based bookmakers have made some unusual offerings ahead of the Tuesday 16th March Cheltenham Festival.  In addition to offering odds on the event, Paddy Power has promised to refund all losing bets should the odds on favourite Dunguib win the race.

Ladbrokes, meanwhile, are the first bookmaker to offer Non Runner No Bet on all races at the 2010 Cheltenham Festival.

Bookmakers anticipate this to be among the most wagered on events of the year in the UK. Huge amounts of money are bet during festival week, with hundreds of millions of pounds being gambled over the four day period in fact.

The Cheltenham Festival is the most prestigious meeting in the National Hunt racing calendar in the United Kingdom, and has race prize money second only to the Grand National. It is an event where many of the best British and Irish trained horses race against each other, the extent of which is relatively rare during the rest of the season.

The festival takes place annually in March at Cheltenham Racecourse in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. The meeting is often very popular with Irish visitors, mostly because of that nation's affinity with horse racing, but also because it usually coincides with Saint Patrick's Day, a national holiday in celebration of the patron saint of Ireland.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
