Edmonton Casino Murderers Convicted

Two men have been convicted in the second degree murder and assault of Mohamed Ali Ibrahim, a Somali national who was living in Edmonton, Canada.

Adam Michael Brown and Alexander Edward Colin Reid were sentenced Wednesday for the shooting death of Ali Ibrahim outside the River Cree Casino on August 30, 2008.

A fight between the victim and accused along with their respective group of friends inside the casino later concluded in the streets leading to Ali Ibrahim’s death and one other woman injured.

Neither Brown nor Reid showed any remorse during the sentencing.

“They killed my son in a merciless manner,” the victim’s mother, Fouzia Mohamed, said in a victim impact statement read in court by a supporter. “And they endangered the lives of so many people that night.

“They don’t deserve a second chance to walk free in the world again because they did not give my son a second chance.”
