In just over one month, New Jersey’s launch of real money online gambling has proven a huge success with over 40,000 individuals having signed up to open accounts.

The process hasn’t always gone smoothly, however.

Case in point:  One Gambling911.com reader wrote us to discuss his experience signing up with Caesars Online Poker, utilizing the popular 888.com platform.

Ralph P., a resident of Northern New Jersey, writes:

This site is a disaster waiting to happen. Makes Obomacare look good. Took a long time to download as it is not user friendly. Put $50.00 to try out, First off very bad English hard to understand. called was told put in Firefly and Google Chrome then browser plugins every step I am told you did it wrong.

Paid by C.C. told them charge back my card cannot do that (against N.J. law) again try again over and over. By this time was so upset was not thinking right. Told me only way to get MY money back was to put in my banking numbers, which I did when after the second time that did not work was told I put wrong numbers in. then and only then was I told they can mail me a check. Was so worried at 2 am I put a hold on my bank account and credit card. Called Ceasars A.C. no help at all (outside company).

To be fair, Caesars is a solid company and, as such, Ralph P. should not have been up worrying all night to get paid.  Furthermore, they are at a slight disadvantage having gotten off to a later launch start than competitors Borgata (PartyPoker) and Trump Taj Mahal (UltimateGaming).

The good news for Caesars is its strong brand recognition, something the big brick and mortar casinos were counting on and this is the primary reason why Ralph P. decided to try their online poker site out first.
