The commission will hold a public hearing on the industry next week.

“We will move as quickly as we can. I hope within a month or so we might be able to have something constructive to say to the Legislature and the governor,” Crosby said on the WRKO Boston.com Morning Show.

“You don’t want to move too fast on this. It’s important to really think this through, and it’s important to have the industry have a chance to speak up … But I think we all need to move quickly,” Crosby said. “Is the current situation fine? Do we want to leave it like it is? Maybe that’s the way to go. But if not, we’d probably better get moving.”

Massachusetts is one of a handful of U.S. states that have launched inquires into the explosive Daily Fantasy Sports industry.
