SFL to Focus on Offering Daily Fantasy Sports Software to State Lotteries

State lotteries looking for Daily Fantasy Sports software should look no further than Rochester, New York-based Star Fantasy Leagues.

The company, which offers Daily Fantasy Sports, primarily focuses on development of DFS white label software for other companies.  State lotteries such as the one found in Georgia, serve as a perfect target client base for the three-year-old firm.

Georgia’s state lottery recently announced it would be looking into whether the Daily Fantasy Sports sector oversteps its own authority in that state.  Translation: GA wants a piece of the lucrative pie.  It is after all an industry on the fringe of that billion dollar mark.

SFL recently announced it would be pulling out of 25 U.S. states where legalities concerning contests for cash are said to be too murky.

"We'd rather see the clarity and re-enter," Star Fantasy Leagues chief operating officer Seth Young said. "Otherwise, we'll focus our attention elsewhere."

This move comes on the heels of New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman declaring all out war on the industry.  A New York judge is set to rule on whether DraftKings and FanDuel can continue operating in the state as early as this week.
