Colorado officially became the fifth state to legalize the activity in June 2016.

The Division of Professions and Occupations in the Department of Regulatory Agencies oversees the Daily Fantasy Sports sector including licensing fees.

Those sites with less than 7500 users can only register with the state rather than apply for a license and must contact a third party auditing firm.

Consumer protections include provisions that ban employees from playing on said sites, ensuring contests are fair, and segregate player funds.

Contests for college sports are strictly forbidden.

Users must be at least 18 years of age.
