Texas State Police on Tuesday raided The Lodge Card Club in Round Rock, Texas.

The facility is co-owned by poker pro and podcaster Doug Polk as well as Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme.  It features dozens of cash games daily.

Customers were sent home with their chips.

A World Poker Tour (WPT) tournament scheduled for this upcoming weekend has been cancelled.

Reports began circulating Wednesday that the raid may have something to do with the establishment's liquor license, however, by Thursday afternoon, PokerNews reported that the venue is under investigation for alleged money laundering.

By Wednesday evening, Polk referred to the incident carried out by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) as a "witch hunt" and promised to guarantee all player funds would be safe during the time the card room remains shuttered.

"I am waiting on some additional information, but I will make an in depth statement within the next day about what is going on with the lodge."

The raid prompted fellow poker pro Tom Durr to call Polk out.

"You made a lot of your brand out of going after people in times like this. I hope you can take a minute to reflect, and realize the negatives of some of those choices. Hope you do stuff like that less in the future."

Polk responded: "You still allegedly owe tens of millions. Shut the f*** up."
