Corey Elliott ran gambling-linked dog fighting operation in Southeastern Massachusetts for years, according to the complaint
"[This dog] is going to be dead soon," he once allegedly communicated with co-conspirator
Elliott is facing up to five years in prison if convicted
Corey Elliott, 49, of Carver, Massachusetts has been arrested and charged in connection with running a brutal dog fighting ring tied to gambling over multiple years.
Elliott allegedly explained how he would dispose of the dead dogs remains.
“I just throw them [dead dogs] into the Boston Harbor now. When I’m at work, I just put them in the trash back and heave-ho, heave-ho them into the river,” Elliot allegedly said in November 2020.
Federal authorities claim the dog fighting ring ran for years in southeastern Massachusetts.
Charges include conspiracy to participate in an animal fighting venture, according to the US Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts.
Another man, John Murphy of Hanson, has also been charged as a co-conspirator.
Earlier, in August 2018, Elliott allegedly discussed his demented cruelty with Murphy.
"[This dog] is going to be dead soon. I f*cking hate this dog…then when you go out there and whack her, she screams. Like she’s f*cking being killed. So then I went outside with a stick and cracked the f*ck out of her.”
In June 2023, authorities searched Murphy’s home and recovered dogs along with equipment commonly associated with dogfighting. They also seized videos of dog fights on Murphy's phone.
In June of last year, authorities searched Elliott's home and found multiple pit bull-type dogs, some with scarring consistent with fighting, as well as training equipment, veterinary supplies, and pedigrees.
Murphy pleaded guilty last year to nine counts of possessing animals for use in an animal fighting venture and was sentenced one year.
Elliott is facing up to five years in prison for his role in the operation.
