Sports Betting Kicks Off in Tunica, Biloxi Wednesday

Tunica's GoldStrike Casino and the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi were set to begin taking sports bets at 12 Noon Wednesday (August 1), well ahead of the 2018 NFL and College Football season.

Online sports wagering will only be available via internationally-licensed websites in the state of Mississippi and surrounding region.

If you are able to get to these casinos, betting should be available on most major sporting events.  Tunica's GoldStrike even promises LIVE IN-PLAY WAGERING.

Wednesday will be a star-studded day.

Placing the first bets at the Beau Rivage will be:

  • Willis McGahee, former Miami Hurricanes running back and 2-time NFL Pro Bowler
  • Robert Royal, former Louisiana State Tigers tight end and NFL star
  • Legendary oddsmaker Danny Sheridan

IP Casino in Biloxi and Sam’s Town in Tunica were also shooting to be open in the next two weeks to start taking preseason NFL bets.

Tunica's sports books are especially attractive as these are convenient to those living in Memphis, Tennessee and towns throughout neighboring Arkansas.

The launch of sports betting comes 10 days after Mississippi’s sports betting regulations took effect on July 22.

The US Supreme Court abolished sports wagering restrictions at the state level back in May.
