Super Bowl LVII Will Be "Monumental" Day in History...Here's What Bettors Are Backing

Most bookies around the betting globe will be rooting for Kansas City on Super Bowl Sunday.  The Chiefs are actually who we here at Gambling911.com are backing as the +1.5 underdog as of Saturday afternoon.

It makes perfect sense after all. Kansas City has a record of 13-1 in their last 14 games against the NFC all-time.  Their only loss was in the 2021 Super Bowl to the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Bucs.

During this period, the Chiefs beat the Eagles by 12 points.  But at that time, four of the six wins were by just three points.

More recently, KC has dominated NFC teams.  The last six wins, dating back to November of 2021, were by double digits.

"Last year's Super Bowl was the biggest betting day in the 25-year history of our company, but we're on pace to surpass those numbers by about 10% this year," Director of Trading for SportsBetting.ag, Robert Cooper, said. "And the volume we're seeing on prop bets, where we're offering more than 1,000 props with 10,000 different wagering options, is astronomical. We'll have as much money on those as we will on the traditional game lines."

The prop bets that will cost the book the most at this point are:

1. Final exact score - Eagles 37, Chiefs 34 +4000 ("Everyone betting on this silly rumor that the NFL is scripting the end of the game," Cooper commented.)

2. Will any quarterback have a reception - Yes +750

3. Will there be a successful 2-point conversion - Yes +250

4. Length of first TD - 40-50 yards +1600

5. Will any FG or PAT his crossbar or upright - Yes +550

Here are the top liabilities for MVP:

1. Haason Reddick +2000

2. Kenneth Gainwell +6600

3. Dallas Goedert +3300

Top bets for MVP:

1. Patrick Mahomes

2. Jalen Hurts

3. Travis Kelce

Here are the current betting splits for the game lines:

Chiefs vs. Eagles (-1.5, 51)

63.5% of $ on Eagles to cover spread

54.1% of $ on Eagles ML (-123)

53.8% of $ on OVER

It's interesting to note there is a divide between the public and professional bettors. Currently, 66.6% of the pro's spread bets are on Kansas City +1.5 and a whopping 96.9% of their moneyline wagers are also on the Chiefs (+103). As far as the total, sharps are somewhat split with 51.9% on the UNDER.

There's a half-million-dollar swing between the underdog and favorite in terms of the book's season-long Super Bowl futures. So that's another reason why the bookies are hoping Patrick Mahomes can come through with his second career championship.
