Ascot Shergar Cup Horse Racecards Have Medicean Man Favored in Dash Handicap
Saturday’s horse racecards are highlighted by the Ascot Shergar Cup in the UK.
We start with the 12:50 Shergar Cup Mile Handicap, with Swift Gift and Dubai Dynamo the 6/1 co-favorites.
The Shergar Cup Dash Handicap has Medicean Man as a pretty firm 3/1 favorite.
Time Form calls Medicean Man “Reliable hold-up sprinter who is aiming for a C&D hat-trick having scored twice here last month, on latest occasion by ½ length from Duchess Dora. Needs to pull out more to defy his welter burden.”
The Classic has Ithoughtitwasover the 7/2 favorite, however, this looks like a tight competition with Pivotman at 5/1 odds and Ivan Vasilevich at 7/1.
The Shergar Cup Challenge Handicap had Rock A Doodle Doo as the favorite at 7/2 odds.
Firebeam was the clear 6/4 favorite of any of the Shergar Cup racecards. He races in the Sprint Handicap.
Firebeam has won at Lingfield and York.
"He's a big, long-striding horse that is still developing. He's very much one who is improving and we're very excited about his prospects," said Harry Herbert, racing manager to owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.
The winning jockey in the Shergar Cup will walk off with the Silver Saddle and a cheque for £3,000.
