Belmont Stakes 2011 Predictions

Gambling911.com has some interesting Belmont Stakes 2011 predictions.  While our initial pick was on Kentucky Derby Animal Kingdom, we can’t help but cringe at the thought that his number 9 post position has produced just 3 winners in the past 15 years.   Compare that with Preakness winner Shackleford’s number 12 spot producing only a single winner in the history of the Belmont Stakes, there is at least some hope.

Master of Hounds number one spot has turned out the most winners and he would pay out $700 for every $100 bet at BetDSI.com.  The 5th place Derby finisher probably would have performed much better had the track been longer.  The Belmont Stakes just happens to be the longest track and Master of Hounds benefits from both the track length and post position.

70 wins have been derived from the first five positions since the start of the Belmont Stakes.  Of these five positions, Ruler on Ice would pay the best at $2200 for every $100 bet.   There is little to suggest he is capable of winning however.

Stay Thirsty pays 15/1 odds in the number 2 spot.  Trained by Todd Pletcher and owned by Mike Repole, Stay Thirsty becomes an instant contender by default.  That said, he is yet to have much of an impact in any of the races run.

Brilliant Speed, at 10/1 odds, is likely to falter in the dirt.

1. Master of Hounds payout would be $700 for every $100 bet.

2. Stay Thirsty would pay out $1500 for every $100 bet.

3. Ruler On Ice would pay out $2200 for every $100 bet.

4. Santiva would pay $1000.

5. Brilliant Speed would pay $1000.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
