California Chrome Morning Preakness Odds – Best Payout Online

California Chrome was being offered up anywhere from -160 to -170 but this number was likely to get worse as post time approached so Gambling911.com was suggesting its readers to lock in the current price here.

Some books you will see the odds listed at 3/5 Saturday morning and this simply means – for every $5 bet you would win $3 (or profit $3 with the $5 bet returned should California Chrome come through).  A $15 bet would result in a $9 profit.

This horse has practiced great all week under the worst of conditions (muddy track).  After opening at 2-1, Gambling911.com actually thinks there is reason to believe he could be slashed all the way to 1-3 come race time.

Trainer Art Sherman calmed any fears Friday that California Chrome might have health issues related to a cough.

“I just want to say California Chrome is fine, his throat is fine, he’s got a little tickle in his throat, that is why he coughed,” said Alan Sherman, who is also Art’s assistant trainer. “He’s not scratching from the Preakness, he’s fine. It’s not a problem. I don’t know why it got blown out of proportion but it did. Just letting everybody know this horse is in perfect shape.”

13% of those betting the Preakness Stakes were backing California Chrome at the online books early on while another 17% were backing Social Inclusion.
