Norman Asbjornson, King Congie and Mr. Commons Odds to Win Preakness Stakes

Norman Asbjornson odds to win the Preakness Stakes were set at 25/1.  Mr. Commons had odds of 20/1 while King Congie was listed at 18/1.  All Preakness Stakes odds were courtesy of BetED.com

Norman Asbjornson has improved in speed with each race he’s run.  He finished 2nd place in the Gotham Stakes.  He beat Toby’s Corner, who went on to win the Wood Memorial, beating one time Kentucky Derby favorite Uncle Mo.

The problem with Norman Asbjornson:  He is yet to win a stakes race.

Mr. Commons finished third at the Santa Anita Derby.  He is among the horses to have skipped the Kentucky Derby and will arrive in Maryland fresh without a start in six weeks.  This horse is best suited for a grass track.

King Congie lost the Grade 1 Blue Grass by a head.  He can run well on both turf and polytrack.  Dirt is not his preferred surface.
