Odds to win the 2012 Travers Stakes haven’t changed since the prices were posted on Wednesday at Sportsbook.com that have Alpha as a 2-1 favorite and Street Life at 3/1

Gambling911.com noted that early interest in this year’s Travers Stakes is somewhat diminished compared to periods past due to a less-than-stellar field.  A handful of early favorites such as Union Rags, Bodemeister and Preakness Stakes winner I’ll Have Another have since dropped out.

Hansen, last year's 2-year-old champion expected to set the pace, has also been scratched from Saturday’s race due to a torn tendon in his left front leg.

Golden Ticket trainer Ken McPeeks sees this as a golden opportunity with a number of long shots having a chance to pay out big, including Golden Ticket at 15/1

'He's worked as good as I've ever had a horse work at the training track here,'' McPeek said, ''and he's a horse sitting on tilt. We kind of feel there's a chance for him.''

The Travers traditionally features the best in the horse racing world vying for the 3-year-old championship and sometimes the Horse of the Year honors.  That won’t be happening this year.

Here are your latest odds to win the 2012 Travers Stakes courtesy of Sportsbook.com, which was giving back 8 percent in losses.
