Optimizer Odds to Win the 2012 Kentucky Derby

With his post position set at number 2, Optimizer now had odds of winning the 2012 Kentucky Derby at 50/1 stateside and 28/1 online at Bookmaker.eu, which has been serving the sports betting public since 1985.

First off, the 28/1 line may not seem like much value compared to the morning line at Churchill Downs until one factors in the generous 8 percent back daily on losses offered by Bookmaker.  Qualified new accounts are also privy to up to $2500 in FREE CASH, which is based on an initial deposit. And unlike some other online racebooks, Bookmaker.eu will NEVER ask for a social security number.

Now getting back to Optimizer, we at Gambling911.com still see value in the 28/1 odds especially at the number 2 post position, which has produced a total of 9 wins in Derby history.

There is a downside to Optimizer, biggest of which is that he was bred for turf. In five dirt starts, Optimizer has run poorly in three of those.  That said, he did manage a 2nd place finish on dirt at the Grade 2 Rebel Stakes.

The reason Optimizer still has decent value at 28/1 odds is that he is trained by Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas, a man who has four Kentucky Derby wins to date.

Lukas, however, has essentially had 42 losses in the Derby as Optimizer will be his 45th entry.

Optimzer has gone 1-9 thus far so don’t expect miracles here.
