Preakness 2015 Morning Forecast Calls for Storms in Area: Muddy Track?
The morning forecast and future radar updates show storms forming a few hundred miles west of the Baltimore area and Pimlico Racetrack shortly after noon.
There was now a 50% chance of rain and scattered storms in and around the track by the start of Saturday evening’s Preakness Stakes race.
The only proven mud-loving horse among the Big Three is American Pharoah. Neither Dortmund or Firing Line have much experience racing in the slop.
While thunderstorms are likely in and around the Baltimore area, we probably won’t know for certain that the actual track will be under the gun until an hour or two leading up to race time.
The potential for rain prior to 3 pm is minimal.
