This Grade I horse race is the brother of both the Arlington Million and the Beverly D. Stakes.  It is raced at a distance of 1 ¼ miles.

Silver Max is seen as the country’s best 3-year-old turf horse, so at 6/5 odds, there is actually some pretty good value to be had.   He is also the only 3-year-old U.S. graded stakes-winner to have won six straight races this year.

“It is unusual for a horse to go on such a winning streak like he has on the grass, and it’s wire to wire,” Trainer Dale Romans said. “The only horse that’s really been in front of him is the one whose saddle slipped in the Virginia Derby. And that showed me a lot with the horse, (because) he didn’t get aggressive. He would’ve had plenty of excuses to get beat in the last race. He had the soft ground, first time going a mile and a quarter, he had the horse with the saddle slip run up and look him in the eye. And he still got the job done.”
