Soldat odds to win the Kentucky Derby 2011 were listed at +1200 and we could see these odds move into single digits by Saturday afternoon (day of the race).  You can bet Soldat at BetUS.com.

Soldat will run in the number 17 post position.  Here’s the bad news:  There has never been a horse that won from post No. 17 in the derby's history.  The outside position may be a little too much for Soldat (or most horses for that matter based on history) to handle.

That said, Soldat is known for his solid endurance and strength.   His speed on dirt is questionable.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
