Union Rags Odds to Win 2012 Kentucky Derby at 5 to 1

Union Rags, the originally favorite to win the 2012 Kentucky Derby, was now coming in at 5 to 1 odds, just shy of Bodemeister.  All odds were courtesy of WagerWeb.com, which was offering up to $1000 in FREE CASH for qualified customers who join today.

Union Rags came in 1st at the Fountain of Youth, but has since seen some diminished value with his 3rd place finish at the coveted Florida Derby.

Union Rags also finished 2nd in the Breeders Cup Juvenile behind Hansen, who is now instilled as a 14-1 long shot

"When you look back at the race, it was a key," Union Rags trainer Michael Matz said. "And, a lot of those horses have done well. I think this is a pretty competitive crop."

The top five graded stakes earners are all from the 13-horse field that started at the Juvenile.

James Scully of ESPN.com attempted to explain why Union Rags may have suffered a setback racing at the Florida Derby:

“Union Rags was trapped down on the rail most of the way last time, experiencing a less-than-favorable trip before coming up about a length short in the final furlong, but that experience could do him a ton of good in the bulky field. The stalker is very dangerous.”
