Masters Payout Odds 2023
The 2023 Masters is upon us and we can tell you having just gotten back from Augusta, the city is preparing for this massive event that will draw the best the golf world has to offer.
Scottie Scheffler has seen his odds get much shorter in recent days, from greater than +1600 to +650 (the payout $650 on a $100 bet), making him the odds-on favorite.
Scheffler is rising to the top of the Golf rankings, so this does make sense.
As calm and collected as he might appear, nerves were frazzled the hours leading to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club last year.
“I’m a crier. Always have been. It’s nothing unusual for Meredith to see,” Scheffler said, referring to his wife. “Everyone sees things from the outside. When you watch me on TV, you look so calm, how are you so calm and these things? Me, myself, I’m not that calm. It’s what the Lord has done for my life. In that moment, I just wanted to tell exactly what was going on and be honest … I was so stressed out. I didn’t know what to do. I was sitting there telling Meredith, ‘I don’t think I’m ready for this. I’m not ready, I don’t feel like I’m ready for this kind of stuff,’ and I just felt overwhelmed.”
Jon Rahm was the favorite to win this year's Masters, the payout for him will now be $750 on a $100 bet.
Rahm is anticipating a "tense" Masters dinner as he's been vocal about the LIV Tour impacting the PGA.
"One thing I keep going back to, and it’s probably only funny to me," he said Tuesday, via Golf.com. "I think the Masters Champions Dinner's going to be a little tense compared to how it’s been in the past."
Rahm added: “Yeah, I mean, I think we all know where we stand. There’s still going to be players that choose to transition to LIV is my guess,” said Rahm. “But for a lot of us, I think we see the direction the PGA Tour is going towards, right? I mean, they’re making the necessary changes to adapt to the new age and I think it’s better for everybody.”
He says he doesn't believe these tensions will carry onto the course.
"I think it’s going to be the same," he said. "I didn’t feel a difference in any of the majors last year. If somebody has a problem with LIV players, they’re just not going to deal with them and that’s about it. In my mind, like I’ve said it before, I respect their choice and the ones I was friends with before I’m still going to be friends with, right? It doesn’t change the way I’m going to operate with them."
