The MLB trade window is quickly closing with the deadline marked for 6 p.m. Tuesday.  By Tuesday afternoon, Justin Verlander was reportedly heading to the Houston Astros.  He was at EVEN odds to do so on Monday.

Verlander becomes the fourth high-profile Mets player to depart in recent days.  Max Scherzer was traded to the Texas Rangers.  Closer David Robertson (Miami Marlins) and outfielder Mark Canha (Milwaukee Brewers) were also traded.

BetOnline had already seen some marquee names move teams ahead of Tuesday evening's deadline.

Nolan Arenado was among those featuring in the trade talks but the Cardinals insisted over the weekends they will not be trading the third baseman, who has 22 home runs so far this year.

“I have stated we are not trading him, have not asked him to waive his no-trade clause,” Cardinals President of Baseball Operations Nolan Mozeliak said. “So at this time, we are working on building for future success.”
