For sports bettors throughout the United States, Sunday December 5, 2010 marked a momentous occasion where lines on the upcoming 2011 BCS games have been announced along with the teams playing in each of the five BCS bowl games.

As is typically the case, Bookmaker.com was among the very first to post odds on each of the games.

What stands out the most is each of the games featured a line of -3, including the BCS Championship Title game between Auburn and Oregon.  There was one very noteworthy exception and what the oddsmakers expect to be a lopsided game:  Oklahoma was a -17 favorite vs. Connecticut in the Fiesta Bowl.

The Huskies earned the Big East's automatic BCS berth through a tiebreaker upon defeating both West Virginia and Pittsburgh.

The +17 long odds on UConn has to do with the fact that they come into the Fiesta Bowl with an 8-4 record compared to the 11-2 record earned by Oklahoma.

The Huskies have won every game since October 29 and became only the 4th College Football team in history to earn a Bowl game spot with 4 losses.

“After our players got slapped in the face by Louisville, losing 26-0, they had had enough. And they went out and started doing it ever since the West Virginia game,” said UConn Coach Randy Edsall.

TCU will face off against Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl January 1, 2011.

The third-ranked Horned Frogs come into this Rose Bowl the -3 favorite having posted their second consecutive undefeated regular season.  They have tied for the nation’s second-longest current winning streak at 12 in a row.  The other two undefeated teams, Auburn and Oregon, will play in the BCS National Title game.  Auburn was the -3 favorite in that one.

Other 2011 BCS Bowl games lines released by Bookmaker.com included the Orange Bowl where Stanford is a -3 favorite vs. Virginia Tech and the Sugar Bowl featuring Ohio State as a -3 favorite vs. Arkansas.
