Charlie Sheen, who's been accused this month of alcoholism, drug addiction, mental illness, domestic violence, anti-semitism and whore-mongering, among other things, has beaten one demon in his life--an addiction to gambling!

Sheen's immense gambling habit--rumored for years--became public knowledge in 2006 when his second wife, Denise Richards, said in divorce papers filed in court that he was blowing about $200,000 a week on gambling.

Much of the gambling losses came from betting on sports, she said.

In one now-famous incident that she related in the court papers and that was widely reported, Richards said that in the car on the way to the hospital for the birth of their daughter, Lola, in 2005, Sheen used his cell phone to call his bookie and place a bet on a sporting event.

Later, Sheen was checking his sports pager for the result of the game he'd bet, just as she was being wheeled into surgery for  a C-section before giving birth, Richards said in the documents.

On other occasions, when the couple went away for romantic weekends, Sheen would spend much of his time gambling online, including making sports wagers with offshore sportsbooks, Richards said in the documents.

So is Sheen still a degenerate gambler?

Apparently not.

Lost amidst the allegations and admissions of various bad behaviors that have been made this month as Sheen has been all over television, was his declaration on one TV program that "I don't gamble any more."

But can he be believed?

On several shows this month he admitted to buying and consuming "seven-gram rocks" of cocaine.

"That's how I roll," he declared.

If a guy would admit that on national television, he likely would admit anything, including that he still gambles.

But he didn't.

So it seems clear--he probably doesn't gamble any more.

He needs all his money for coke.
