Following much press, a Plum TV executive has said he will drop a case he has against Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun.  Jerome “Jerry” Powers was appealing a decision by a state court ruling he must pay a $1.2 million gambling debt.  Powers attempted to fight the ruling with a claim that a state court could not make decisions involving sovereign nations.

The New York Post broke the story earlier Wednesday that Powers would pay the monies owed.

Originally he claimed that the casino extended him an “illegal” unlimited line of credit, which caused the exec to lose the funds.

"Jerry is currently in settlement discussions with Mohegan Sun to drop his appeal and pay his gambling obligations in full," a spokesman for Plum TVtold Media Ink.

Plum is a lifestyles network broadcast in “high wealth” niche markets like the Hamptons in Long Island, Aspen and Powers home town of Miami Beach.

The Post also noted that the Plum TV board met with Powers last week to discuss ended the legal pursuit.
