US President Barack Obama was to announce that Osama Bin Laden is dead Sunday night.

Betting exchanges and online gambling websites have offered odds on his capture or death for years with varying prices.   6 percent of those betting this contract at intrade.com believed he would be captured or killed before year’s end.

News organizations reported that the US had recovered the body of Bin Laden and conducted a DNA sample to prove the world’s biggest terrorist’s death.

Bin Laden was regarded as the mastermind behind the 9/11 terrorist attack on September 11, 2011 that took down the World Trade Centers.

Obama Re-election Odds Likely to Skyrocket Following Announcement

Another set of odds that are likely to be impacted by the announcement that Osama Bin Laden is dead is President Obama's odds to win the US Presidential election in 2012.

While he has been a favorite to win early on, this will be considered a major accomplishment for the Obama Administration.
