Astrology odds to win the 2011 Preakness Stakes were listed at 12/1 with a payout potential of $1200 on every $100 bet at SBG Global.

Astrology has never been out of the money in seven career starts at five tracks at five distances.  He is the model of consistency.  The Preakness will be his third start back from a layoff.

The problem with Astrology is he’s yet to win beyond a mile.

Astrology trainer Steve Asmussen won the Preakness S. (G1) with Curlin and also brought Rachel Alexandra to Pimlico.

"It's a completely different scenario in the fact that Curlin had the potential to win one of these and now we're trying to win one for a third time," Asmussen explained. "It's a completely different feel."

Astrology, who captured the Iroquois and finished second in the Kentucky Jockey Club last fall, was considered a major contender at this year’s Kentucky Derby but became sick prior to the race.

"He is a Stonestreet-bred horse, a product of everything you are trying to establish," Asmussen said. "He has the right pedigree and the right look and he needs to win the right race."
