Belmont Stakes 2011 morning odds were in flux and could become more volatile as weather conditions are subject to change later in the afternoon as race time approaches.

Observers Saturday morning said they believed the track looked “sloppy” although no official condition had been given at press time heading into the Noon Eastern Time hour here at Gambling911.com.  There were showers this morning with a thunderstorm potential throughout the afternoon.  Storms were forming around the New York City area though nothing of any significance west of Elmont, New York prior to Noon.

Rain would favor the Preakness Stakes winner, Shackleford, whose odds have actually gotten longer at 8/1 or +800.

Master of Hounds has been slashed from 7/1 to 5/1 morning odds while Animal Kingdom continues his gradual move towards even odds at +175, down from 2/1 earlier.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
