Printing errors on cards customized for the 2011 World Series of Poker allowed some players to identify low spade cards that were lying face down under television lights installed by ESPN, according to some players who were in attendance.

U.S. Playing Card Co. is responsible for the glitch and is reportedly producing some 10,000 new decks for the remainder of the tournament.  For the time being, dealers have been using cards from last year’s WSOP.

Poker pro Jon “PearlJammer” Turner first notified World Series of Poker officials about the card glitch in last week’s $1k No limit Holdem final.  Play was halted for a time after the discovery.
