European sensation Frankel has accumulated 136 points for the coveted Horse of the Year award.

The Daily Telegraph noted that Frankel was 52 points ahead in two categories for the prestigious award following his big win last week.

Frankel won the Sussex Stakes with ease.

“He's the best I've ever seen,” said winning trainer Sir Henry Cecil. “He's out of the ordinary. I would be surprised if we we ever see a better one.”

Cecil added: “The future plan is likely to be the Juddmonte and he is in both the QEII and Champion Stakes at Ascot.”

So You Think and Treasure Beach were both far behind Frankel in the quest to be the best.  Canford Cliffs and Goldikova were also in the running.
