It's been a winning year for online poker players at Americas Cardroom, particularly for those who have lost seemingly unbeatable hands playing Texas Hold'em. Americas Cardroom today released its Bad Beat Jackpot numbers for 2011. The online poker site paid out $1,032.645.26 since August 2011, when the site it originally took over (DoylesRoom) upgraded its software.  Learn more about America’s Card Room here>>>>

Over $516,000 was paid to players who had the losing hand. Players with winning hands collected over $344,000, and those who participated in the Bad Beat Jackpot showdown hands netted over $172,000.

While dozens of players have shared in the $1 million, a few lucky online poker players have profited from playing Bad Beat Jackpot more than once. On September 13th, bkr165200 won $27,609 by participating in the Bad Beat Jackpot hand that netted I58221 over $165,000. Then, on October 26th, bkr165200 won another $930.44 for being a hand participant.

Similarly, Word Son won $37,224.26 on December 10th for being the hand winner in a Bad Beat Jackpot showdown against mmTSmmTSmmTS. About an hour later, Word Son collected another $8,089.57 for participating in another Bad Beat Jackpot hand.

It's all part of the ongoing Bad Beat Jackpot game at Americas Cardroom. The US-friendly online poker site is softening the blow of losing at the poker tables by paying poker players big money when misfortune strikes.

But it's not just the recipient of the bad beat who walks away a winner when the jackpot hits. The winner of any Bad Beat Jackpot losing hand stands to win 20% of the jackpot, and those who participated in the dealt hand will share 10% of the jackpot. What's more, 30% of every jackpot goes to reseed the next big one.
