Bail Decision for Bianca Rojas-Latraverse and Accomplices Will Come Tuesday

A Quebec Court judge is weighing a decision to release Bianca Rojas-Latraverse and two other accomplices out on bail after she was charged with orchestrating the forced entry and robbery of her former boyfriend’s home, 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel.

After hearing final arguments at the Longueuil courthouse on Friday, Judge Pierre Belisle said he would announce his decision some time on Tuesday. Rojas-Latraverse, 20, of St. Sauveur, John Stephan Clark Lemay, 22, and Anthony Bourque, 20, both of Pointe Claire, will spend at least another night behind bars.  Each could be facing up to 15 years in prison for the December 21 attack that left Duhamel hospitalized.

The three individuals got away with cash, a Rolex and Duhamel’s prized diamond-encrusted bracelet.  The Rolex has since been recovered.

Prosecutor Nancy Delorme said Clark Lemay appeared to be mocking the court process after telling the Judge he was a heavy drinker and promiscuous after being asked how he intended to spend his time if released.

"You would be releasing a person charged with a serious crime who told you he likes to go out to bars and drink like a crazy person," Delorme told Belisle.
