Chad, "Couch Slouch" columnist and long-time commentator on ESPN telecasts of the World Series of Poker, later apologized through his attorney to Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Laura Foland Priver during a contempt of court hearing.

Chad had previously been ordered not to discuss the case or use any electrical devices such as a cell phone or any type of web-enabled platform.

Chad’s tweets to his more than 18,000 followers included:

"No tweeting allowed in courtroom, so I'll be sending messages-in-a-bottle via the Los Angeles River.”

The sports commentator was serving as a juror.
