Union Rags is looking like the horse to beat at this year’s Kentucky Derby with early odds set at 6 to 1 at BetOnline.com

Union Rags was expected to race this weekend at the Fountain of Youth, 1 1/16 m
Gulfstream Park, 2/26.  Odds also available at BetOnline.com.

“The Fountain of Youth will almost certainly produce the early Kentucky Derby favorite,” writes ESPN.com’s Special Contributor, Gary West.

But he claims the Fountain of Youth winner will be the 2nd favorite to win the Derby, Algorithms (listed at 7/1 at BetOnline)

From ESPN.com:

If h e(Algorithms) duplicates his Holy Bull performance, he'll win Sunday, and if he steps forward in his first outing around two turns, he'll win easily and the Florida sky will rain accolades.

"Our main objective is not the first race," said Union Rags' trainer, Michael Matz, about the Fountain of Youth, "but two races later … That's what we're getting ready for."

He added:  "What we're looking for is a good race," Matz said, and that doesn't necessarily mean a victory.
