Carrie Stroup here with your 5 most popular 2012 Kentucky Derby horses bet thus far coming into Wednesday night’s post position draw. Sportsbook was offering betting on the Derby with up to 8 percent back daily on losses.
Union Rags was getting the most betting action as the co-favorite with Bodemeister. Both horses had odds of winning the Derby set at 9/2. Bodemeister was the second most wagered on Derby contender.
Gemologist was getting the third heaviest action at 7/1 odds followed by Hansen at 14/1 and Alpha at 11/1.
Expect Hansen’s odds to get a little shorter should this trend continue.
