2012 Nunthorpe Stakes Betting Odds: Bated Breath the Favorite

2012 Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes betting odds were available at Sportsbook.com here (offering up to 8 percent losses back). 

This Friday 4 August race takes place at York in England on a 5 furlongs (1,006 metres) dirt track for horses two years or older.

Bated Breath (4/1 odds), Ortensia (5/1 odds) and Pearl Secret (5/1 odds) were the early favorites coming in.  Sportsbook.com was offering the best value on all three favorites of any other race book. 

While much of the early talk surrounds Bated Breath and Ortensia, Pearl Secret could offer the upset according to some pundits.

Tony Pappas of The Australian writes: 

Racing in the same ownership as Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden, Pearl Secret has won all his four starts, all over 1000m, including two over the Nunthorpe course. But the three-year-old colt is stepping up a few grades in class for this.

Pearl Secret pays $5 for every $1 bet at Sportsbook.com, again the best value anywhere.
