Sussman: “Brilliant Speed has made 20 starts, and 15 have come in graded-stakes races. He has never finished lower than seventh in a race, and that came in last year’s Kentucky Derby. He hasn’t won since the Grade-3 Saranac last September, and the four-year-old colt also came in third in the 2011 Breeders Cup Turf race”.
Gambling911.com suggests Brilliant Speed should be considered as part of a trifecta bet but at 20/1 odds there is some value in a small wager for him to win the 2012 Breeders Cup Classic, though we don’t see it happening.
Sussman: “Flat Out is coming off a huge win in the Grade-1 Jockey Club Gold Cup for his first victory of 2012, his second straight in that event. This is also Flat Out’s second start in the Classic as he finished fifth in 2011, and this six-year-old has definitely recovered from a slow start, a 12th-place run in the Grade 3-Fort Lauderdale.” Gambling911.com says the value just isn’t there at 6/1.

Sussman: “Game On Dude is in the horse betting running for Horse of the Year, and a win in this race would go a long way for this five-year-old gelding, which has four wins in six 2012 starts. Three of those have come in his last four starts and two were in Grade-1 races, so Game On Dude and his stable knows what it takes to compete in big races.” Gambling911.com believes he has a very good shot of winning. You might want to try to get him at better than 2/1 though.
Sussman: “Ron the Greek also won at Santa Anita in 2012, taking the Grade-1 Handicap in March, but this five-year-old is coming off a disappointing sixth in the Jockey Club Gold Cup, his first result outside the top two in eight races. However, Ron the Greek may be a better handicap horse as his two victories this year have come in those races.” Gambling911.com notes that Ron The Greek is trained by Bill Mott and, at 8/1 odds, he has tremendous value. This horse also won his last race at Santa Anita and has been among the top 2 finishers in 8 of his previous races before his last 6th place finish.
Sussman: “To Honor and Serve has made five starts in 2012, winning both non-handicap races, so it’s safe to say that he can handle himself in these races. This four-year-old beat out the likes of Mucho Macho Man in the Grade-1 Woodward, now he has to defeat a field full of those talented horses.”
