Fort Larned Wins 2012 Breeders Cup Classic

Fort Larned is the winner of the $5 million 2012 Breeders Cup Classic after leading the entire way.  The payout was 8/1.  This was a mile and a quarter race run at Santa Anita. 

The finishes were as follows:

1 – Fort Larned

2 – Mucho Macho Man

3 – Flat Out

Game On Dude had been the 1-2 odds-on favorite to win this year’s Classic and was competing to be named “Horse of the Year” vs. Wise Dan, who had won the Breeders Cup Mile an hour earlier.  Trainer Bob Baffert was 0 for 8 coming into this year’s Classic.
