While New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is yet to act on an Internet gambling bill that currently sits on his desk, neighboring Pennsylvania is proposing their own Web gambling legislation.

Last month, Pennsylvania toppled New Jersey for the first time ever to become the nation’s second biggest gambling destination after Nevada.

Pennsylvania Rep. Tina Davis confirmed that she will soon be introducing online gambling legislation

In an interview with eGaming Review, Davis said:

“A responsible Internet gaming system must be created in order to protect Pennsylvanians and the success of the established gaming industry in the Commonwealth, which has generated more than $7 billion in state tax revenue, and created more than 16,000 jobs statewide.”

Pennsylvania is the latest state to be mulling online gambling legislation along with Mississippi, Massachusetts and Iowa.

In New Jersey, Governor Christie has until February 7 to act or the bill will automatically become law.
