Departing odds to win the 2013 Preakness were at +450 or near 5/1.  He was seeing only a small percentage of the betting action at Bookmaker, with some of the sharpest customers on the planet.  Bet on the 2013 Preakness Stakes at Bookmaker and receive up to 8 percent cash back daily, WIN or LOSE

Departing finished 3rd at this year’s all important Louisiana Derby before going on to win the Illinois Derby.

He has visited the winner’s circle in four of his last five races, making Departing a “must have” for a “place” bet.  Expect his speed to match up well with the rest of the Preakness Stakes field.

Despite the Illinois Derby win, Departing is yet to win a major race.  In fact, his Louisiana Derby 3rd place finish may be his most impressive showing to date.

Rain could prove to be a factor Saturday and this will not bode well for Departing.
