PPH Football Betting - Questions Surround QB Situation in Philly
As Price Per Head bettors at WagerHome have noticed, Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly may be creating a quarterback controversy.
With Michael Vick not available to play because of a hamstring injury, Kelly inserted Foles as the starting quarterback Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Foles responded by going 22 of 31 for 296 yards, and in his Monday press conference, Kelly absolutely refused to say whether Vick would be the starter again if he was determined to be healthy. he kept referring to having to check on Vick's injury first before saying anything, but reporters were looking for that big vote of confidence, and they didn't get it.
PPH bettors know that Kelly has thought a lot of Foles, who probably goes deep better than Vick. In fact, when he came aboard as head coach, he made it know that there was going to be a competition for the quarterback job. Well, maybe that competition has resumed once again.
The Dallas Cowboys, who play Philadelphia next week, have undergone some attrition on their defensive front, and now they will be without their acknowledged leader. DeMarcus Ware has a quadriceps injury and will be out of action for at least four weeks. DeMarco Murray, responsible for 85% of the Cowboys' rushing yards, has a sprained knee, but it was not determined as of yet whether he was going to miss any time.
When Peyton Manning met up with brother Eli earlier in the season, it was dubbed the "Manning Bowl." Monday night's game between Indianapolis and San Diego was the "Pagano Bowl," because Chuck Pagano is coach of the Colts, while John Pagano is defensive coordinator of the Chargers. So next week, when the Colts play host to Peyton and the Denver Broncos (and get six points in the WagerHome football sportsbook betting odds), what should they call it? The "Passing the Torch Bowl"? One of the players who has made the Green Bay Packers more explosive is going to be unavailable to the team for a while. Coach Mike McCarthy has conceded that Randall "Don't Call Me Tex" Cobb will be out "multiple weeks" as he hurt his knee on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. James Jones suffered a knee injury in the same game, but McCarthy was hopeful that Jones could get back into action this week, as Green Bay lays ten points to the Cleveland Browns in the NFL betting odds at WagerHome.com.
Things have gone from bad to worse for the Houston Texans. Not only did they lose once again, this time to the St. Louis Rams, by 25 points, and AT HOME no less, but they may have lost their much-maligned quarterback for a spell as well.
Matt Schaub went down in the third quarter when he was sacked by Chris Long and stayed down. He was taken off the field with injuries to his lower right leg. As Schaub described it, the injuries were to his "leg, ankle, everywhere."
As he was on the turf, the fans were cheering. After all, Schaub had thrown interceptions that were returned for touchdowns in four straight games, the last three of which has resulted in losses for his team. And they had been calling for T.J. Yates, who had actually won a playoff game for the Texans when he was filling in a couple of years ago. Well, they got Yates - and another "Pick Six." Perhaps football bettors using the sportsbook software of wagerHome.com should figure in seven points for the opposition right off the bat when handicapping Texans' games. It is not known whether Schaub would be out this weekend; that decision will be made late in the week. But the Texans will have Yates and Case Keenum getting ready for the game against Kansas City, where in the betting odds at WagerHome, the Texans are seven-point underdogs to the Chiefs.
After the game, some of the players were properly pissed. Andre Johnson described the fans with: "no class.....it just shows what they're all about." Even members of the Rams (including Long) were angry. And meanwhile, Vince Young, a man without a team after having been cut by the Green Bay Packers, tweeted that he's love to get a shot to play under center in his hometown. "I'M READY," was the message. Was that classless too?
